Next session (session 13) tomorrow at the usual place and time. Previous
session summary as follows:

It will Quartus, Amordi 25, 1688, with but three days before the wedding
of Redmund Erhart and his relatvely unknown wife, Teresa Fazetti. Lady
Drachenheim sent a message to the young woman, suggesting that they should
meet for a promenade around town; the short reply suggested perhaps after
the wedding. The Lady Drachenheim also began tithing the Vattacine Church
for orphanage development.

With a few days spare, and the keys found, the members of the Improvement
Agency decided to venture into their damaged cellar. It was not a great
start to the journey; the two keys were placed in the incorrect order and
a puff of dust blew right into the Lady's face, causing here to collapse
on the spot. Fortunately Dr. Serijo was able to ascertain that the deadly
poison had faded in potency over the many years, and the Lady should
recover in mere days.

Just in time for the wedding! And what an event it was... Hundreds of
people from throughout Eisen, albeit the absence of any from the brides
family was noted. The service, conducted in the Freiburg Cathedral, a
Vattacine church, was carried out by Gérard du Paix, an Objectionist
Reverand! And if the bride was Vattacine, this would require approval from
the bishop of "Dispensation from Canonical Form". Also Lady Drachenheim
was a little taken aback to see that Aulf was present, in finery, among
Erhart's family and friends. But an even greater shock was received when
the bridge revealed her veil, showing a visage that was exactly the same
as the dying woman from several week's prior! She must be the sister of
her final words!

Getting the vial to her must wait, and much planning needs to be done. It
was to the cellar again, and this time, following the icons of the keys in
opening the doors. From there, into the corridors and past the engraving
of the dog, "near the sleeping guard hug the wall", and avoid the pit
trap. After that it was into a wet cave system that Dr. Serijo saw
resembled the heart, "walk the path of blood", and avoid the drowning
effects as latches to the river would have opened. Then it was to stand on
"the shoulders of giants", the names of the Drachenheim ancestors engraved
into the ground to avoid the crossbow darts. Finally, the timing after
"the leaping Stapp", as gears clicked and there was the distant sound of a
watermill starting up, and a great blade cutting across the corridor.
Finally, to the locked door, but with two keys and ten keyholes? "On the
day the sun stopped shining on me"; two and five.

All these traps were passed, and the party made it unscathed into the
final chamber. There, in the middle of the chamber, was a chest as
announced. But the light glittered over the silvery surface of the cave.
Officer Alex Maxmillian recognised it right away; dracheneisen. At least
as much as what existed in the entire world. This was the motherlode of it
all.

Lady Drachenheim volunteered to enter the chamber, the rest of the party
covering her as they could. She took to the centre, and gingerly opened
the chest. After so many traps it was a relief to discover it was not
trapped. Inside, it contained the treasures promised. But as she wondered
at the marvels within and what surrounded her, a roar emanated. She
whirled around to see herself staring at a silver-grey giant lizard.

A drachen.
