And had one of the officer class been present to see it Rifleman Harris
would no doubt have suffered such a fate. But they weren't. So he didn't.
The contemporary RGJs are very proud of their tradition of recruiting very
streetwise soldiers I see no reason why their precursors would have been any
more stupid.

Victory and life for beloved Mr Sharpe commanding officer or poncy
officer-class notion of honour? No contest really.

(Harris himself died later in the same game throwing himself in front of
Sharpe to take a French bullet '*Look out Sir! Aaaargh' *sort of thing)
