[Runequest] Advice Sought re Damage & HP

In our group, and with me as GM, we solve this by avoiding combat if at all possible. Threats and show-off becomes more realistic, as players don't dare risk that the NPC have only got it in the mouth (as we say it in Norway). The players who wants to proove how cool they are in barfights and in back-alleys, end up crippled or dead in short order. They have to rely more on wits and inteligence to advance in the plots and that way the warrior-careers are not so over-emphasized as in most other roleplaygames. Training becomes a better way of adancing than the experience check-way as well.
 
So in my oppinion, what you regard as a challenge/problem, I reard as the greatest advantage with RQ.
