Meditations of Eric

We are continuing our journeys trapped in this accursed lost pyramid, and
with most of my companions at least claiming to others that they are now
loyal servants of the pagans of virtue; Rebekkah has joined the cult of
Artemis, Rainer the cult of Apollo, and Merde the cult of Mars. The earthy
Rainer probably joined because of peversity, and now carries a magica
tatoo of the sun on their hand, a mark of their pagan ways if their ever
was one. Merde swears that he is still a warrior of Christ, and joined the
Mars cult out of convenience.

In a search of a path further down into the pyramid our party first
journeyed into a Martian chamber, with Merde recognising it as the
location where had previously been for conversion reasons. After that we
went to a northern exit and into a destroyed temple, where we noticed a
double bar system from inside the room. Rebekkah also recognised the
symbol of Capricorn upon the walls. On the south wall, we espied a hidden
trapdoor that led down to a new level.

In the new level of the sunken pyramid we first started in the burial
chambers of an entertainer named Nero, with frescoes of his activities
upon the walls. Further in the chambers we entered a room where skeletons
stood to attention carrying spears with one their middle in Roman plate
armour, lorica segmentata. We entered the room and the skeletons animated,
causing us to quickly exit.

Travelling further we entered another tomb - this was becoming a feature
of the level - with a fresco of a centurioun with a glowing sword.
Rebekkah entered a magical chance and detected magic from with the
sacrophagus. Opening it we found a magical sword, which glowed when held.
With this new item we continued onwards, until we were interuppted by a
haunting, a ghost of the Governer Alexander and his consort Zenobia, which
warned us of a curse and death. This caused great fear among us, except
for Rebekkah who recognised it as not being animated, but rather
repeating.

We returned to Rebekkah and continued our journey, and found a small room,
whereupon Rainer discovered a series of traps. A fourth trap however was
missed, but it did but minor damage to Merde although it would have felled
a lesser man. Beyond that was a tight squeeze of partially collapsed
tunnels, which was recognised as deliberate block traps.

Finally we reached the burial chamber of Alexander and Zenobia. Rebekkah
went into a magical trance but did not find anything; a vast quantity of
treasurer, of gold, gems, and jewelry, but Rainer noted that the gems and
jewels were fake, and the coins were but copper with a veneer.
Disappointed we searched the room and found two secret doors, on the north
and south walls. We ventured through the south and found another burial
chamber, where Rebekkah's magics detected magical lorica segmentata armour
and spatha sword; there was also a gold wreath of leaves which Rainer
estimted to be valued at five thousand silvers.

However, out of the sarcophus arose a wraith of Alexander that fought us
with its necrotic touch. We felled it, but all forgot of their arcane
magics, which caused it regenerate and attack me once again as we
considered the ites. I used my two great prayers in defeating this undead
form, is it would rengerate all damage except that caused by the radiance.
